Finally I found the time to grind some more levels in Thousand Needles and Stranglethorn before going into the Scarlet Monastery again for Herod. Having gotten close to level 35 on my lowest character I paid another visit to him in his Armory, and well, what can I say, he went down pretty easily.
Feeling sure of myself I directly went into the Cathedral afterwards, and after the pain of clearing the whole place before pulling Scarlet Commander Mograine, the final fight was easier than I thought. Blizzard must have nerfed all those instances for sure, it never was this easy when I went there at the respective level. Or just my groups always sucked.
Anyways, Kreizenn got a nice shield from the dead Scarlet Commander, and Varimathras rewarded him with a nice sword. I think I am ready for Razorfen Downs tomorrow.

Originally I wanted to write how I cleared all of Scarlet Monastery, but I failed. Then I thought, hey, let’s go to Razorfen Downs and report how I cleared that place. But after some research I didn’t even try because I probably would have failed as well.
The problem is, I am at a pretty low level for those places. Scarlet Monastery Graveyard and Library where no problem. And after quite a while I even reached Herod in the Armory. But he was a big challenge and also my first wipe. And as I was pretty slow during the trash clears, everything had respawned already, so I left. And it turned out that Razorfen Downs isn’t much lower either, and I could not even get all quests for that place, which sucks.
So now I am doing some quest rounds in Thousand Needles to get my team to level 35 and then we will see again. Warlock and Shaman are already that level since they use RAF, but the Paladin, Priest and Mage are only 32 so I have to grind a bit with them. But I will hopefully be able to report a full clear of Scarlet Monastery and/or Razorfen Downs this weekend.
On a side note, two more characters have joined Guild Hydra. I started a little duo of a Tauren Druid (Eashen) and Troll Rogue (Jorlleag) which I play while the rest of my team waits for rested experience. Also this is pretty fun since it is a melee boxing team, so a whole different story to my caster group.

Yes, you read right. I went into the dreaded Gnomeregan, most hated leveling instance ever. At least I get told every time I asked for a group to go with me there, whichever server I was on, both Horde and Alliance. I never understood why, I love that place. Maybe because I like gnomes. Too bad they joined the puny Alliance though hehe.
Anyways, not much to tell. I simply rocked that place. Even Mekgineer Thermaplugg was a breeze, the other bosses don’t even deserve that title. I vaguely remember him summoning a lot more bombs during the fight. Maybe he got nerfed, maybe dps has increased a lot since I went into that dungeon. Well, on to new places. I think the Scarlet Monastery is next on my list.

I didn’t have to work this evening so I finally went into Razorfen Kraul. Not with all five characters though, I just took four of them. My warlock got replaced by my brother’s hunter, since we wanted to play together for a change. I bet he could almost solo that place, being an imba lvl 29 PVP twink. He alone did more than all my toons’ dps combined… something around 180dps or so. Awesome!
Well, we cleared that place pretty fast, and afterwards I went in another time with my full group. Gnomeregan is planned for the weekend now.

Since I was interupted by work yesterday evening I went into Blackfathom Deeps tonight, and I finally had enough time to complete the instance. I hardly remembered that place. Maybe I was there two times in my whole time playing World of Warcraft, and I sure remembered almost nothing. Mindcontrolling trash mobs were funny for a change. So was the boss with forked lightnings hitting everything in her front (hello Lady Vashj junior).
It was fun exploring this place, but too it was too easy. I should have gone here a few levels earlier, but well, still a fun time. Razorfen Kraul is next on my list, some time later this week. Stay tuned!

A few minutes ago I finished my first run of Shadowfang Keep. I was a bit worried since I run a full caster team and some of those worgen can turn magic immune. It wasn’t that bad though. Just pull big packs and switch dps targets to whatever worgen is not immune at the moment. Works like a charm.
The first mini-bosses went down flawlessly, never sweated a bit. Arugal himself proved to be a bigger challenge and I nearly lost some teammembers there, which could only be averted by healing just in time. I didn’t really remember him charming a partymember, so it caught me by surprise. His bolt casts are easy though, just line of sight him and pull him in a remote corner. He won’t ever gate around and you can easily pick him off. Just have to adjust when he charms the tank, to heal whoever gets hit by his hurting bolts now. They really hurt!

Addons can make your life much easier. This was never truer than for a multiboxer with five different classes. All the micro-management can get tedious, so every little help that makes it easier or faster is appreciated. Therefore I compiled this neat list to explain which addons I use, and why.
Jamba- THE multiboxing addon for WoW. It manages everything from automatic follows to quest automation communications. I don’t think you can effectively multibox without this addon.
Questhelper- I mainly use it to watch the quest progress on my whole party, especially important for collection quests. On my secondary characters it basically runs in the background, as I just need the info from the characters on my main’s window.
Deadly Bossmods (Spelltimers)- Spelltimers is an addition to the normal DBM that adds cooldown tracking of spells cast by someone in the party/raid. Very useful to watch certain cooldowns and to alert me when they are available again.
Macaroon- A very powerful, macro-oriented bar addon. Basically it replaces the default Blizzard bars and buttons and allows you to place your own wherever you like, and every button is a macro. And on the plus, the character limitation of 255 characters per macro is nullified, which is very much needed for my multiboxing setup.
SmartBuff- Running on every character I can select which classes to buff with which buff and cast those buffs with a single keypress. One button party buffing, ’nuff said.
agUnitframes- Replaces the standard Blizzard unitframes and makes them moveable. I never liked the layout of the default ui and used a lot of different unitframe addons. Currently I use this one since it is very clear and ordered, so I have a good visual feedback from all of my characters.
I use quite a few other addons as well, but those are not directly related to multiboxing. However I will list them as well.
RicoMiniMap- An improved minimap with nice features, and it is moveable.
Prat- A chat addon with lots of options and possibilities.
CowTip- A tooltip addon that let’s you customize your tooltip layout and which information should be displayed.
ElkBuffBars- Some nice buff bars for buffs, debuffs and weapon enchants, color coded, with time display, multiple layout formats and filters.
MinimapButtonFrame- Collects all buttons from the minimap, including default Blizzard buttons and those from all the addons you have installed and puts them into a moveable and collapsible container.Yes, I like a clean interface.
oGlow- A very small addon that color codes all your items’ background with their rarity in both your character window (and also inspect window) and bags.
Recount- A combat log parser that shows my damage done, dps, healing and much more. I use it to keep an eye on my secondary characters’ performance.

Yesterday evening I thought it would be a good idea to pay the Wailing Caverns a visit. Since it is one of the longer though very fun instances, I initially had some doubts. Namely the high amount of trash mobs, with raptors that shout for help at low health, and druids that sleep random party members, and flying serpents that fear you, and all that in a very packed place.
Well, after the initial pulls it seemed all too easy somehow. I guess they must have made that place easier. At least it felt that way, though the last time I really “crawled” that place was with my very first character when WoW was all shiny and new, and people had no clue what they did anyways.
After a good two hours, or maybe three, forgot to time it (but I sure had to rebuff a lot!) I finally ended the nightmare for Naralex the druid. And since I still need some Deviate Hides and Serpentbloom, I will go back today. That place is fun!

Just for the record, this is the current team. I switched around a bit on the professions and specs, and this is what I will try now for the next few levels:
Lord Kreizenn - Bloodelf Paladin, Protection specced, gathers ore and herbs
Ikatiar the Venom - Bloodelf Priest, Holy spec (might switch to Discipline), Enchanting and Tailoring
Lady Mirenilla - Troll Mage, Arcane spec (maybe Fire soonish), Skinning and later Inscription
Lady Nevederia - Orc Warlock, Destruction spec, Tailoring and Jewelcrafting
Dagarn the Destroyer - Tauren Shaman, Elemental spec, Leatherworking and Alchemy
